Making Connections

In a world where we are connected to the internet by our phones, we are surrounded by the accessible information  of the internet, how is it that we are not connected?  Studies show that individuals spend more time on their phones than holding one on one conversations.  In a world where texting is the prime form of communication, what will happen to the art of conversation? Will speaking one on one become a lost art form in our society?  When you walk into a restaurant chances are, most people will have their phones right next to them and will glance at it more than the person or individuals sitting around them.  Humans need social interaction to thrive and it is a known fact that healthy relationships improve immune function and life quality.  We are all guilty of paying more attention to our phone than the surrounding environment.  Next time you get together with family or friends, make a rule about turning phones off.  Take a moment to notice and connect with the person or people around you, and you might just find yourself feeling more connected.
